Navigating the NDIS Application Process with HeJ Care

Check Your Eligibility

Determining your eligibility for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the first step towards accessing support services. To qualify for NDIS, you must meet certain criteria, including:

  • Aged between 7 and 65 years old
  • Residing in Australia with Australian residency
  • Requiring support due to a permanent and significant disability
  • Utilizing specialized equipment due to a permanent and significant disability
  • Needing support now to reduce future needs

If you meet some or all of these criteria, you may be eligible for the NDIS. For more detailed information on eligibility, visit the NDIS website.

Submit an NDIS Access Request

Once you’ve determined your eligibility, the next step is to submit an access request to the NDIS. This can be done by:

  • Calling the NDIS on 1800 800 110 and requesting to make an Access Request
  • Completing and submitting the Access Request Form via email to NAT@ndis.gov.au
  • Contacting your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or NDIA office for assistance

If you require assistance with completing the form or making the call, you can reach out to your Local Area Coordinator or contact your local NDIA office for support.

Wait to Hear Back from the NDIA

After submitting your access request, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) will review your application and inform you of the outcome. If your request is approved, they will provide you with a date for your planning meeting.

Prepare for Your Planning Meeting

Individuals accepted by the NDIA will need to attend a planning meeting to discuss their goals and support needs. It’s essential to come prepared for this meeting, ready to articulate your needs, preferences, and aspirations. HeJ Care can assist you in preparing for your planning meeting, ensuring you have the necessary information and support to advocate for your requirements effectively.
